Minutes of the Main meeting 10th July, St Martin’s Hall, beginning at 10am.
The Chair, Alison Currah, welcomed all to the meeting including recently joined member Celia Pinkney and guest Maureen.
Dot Dunning was thanked as Greeter and the usual safety and fire regulations given.
Chair
Alison began by reminding members that there were 3 vacancies currently on the committee and next year several of the committee shall be standing down. Replacements would have to be found in order to keep the organisation running.
Promotional flyers and posters were available and the chair asked members to help distribute to outlying areas.
There were photographs of the Midsummer picnic which was a great success with beautiful weather and wonderful musical entertainment including John Hillier on guitar. Two members’ birthdays were celebrated on this day.

Wednesday August 14th-CERC (Cornwall Energy Recycling Centre) visit, guided tour 2 tickets remaining.
Wednesday August 14th– Summer Feast, St Martin’s Hall, from 12 noon.
Thursday 5th September- Pencarrow house and Garden visit.
A reminder was given that it is possible to book online and pay by BACS.
Groups News
Wild swimming which has been so far delayed by weather but is held weekly at Hannafore, alternating morning and afternoons because of tide states.
New group suggestions have been made and further ideas always welcome to enable like-minded people to get together.

Members were reminded that the Repair cafe’s next meeting is on Saturday 13th July 10-12am and is available for the mending of objects.
Alison reminded members that at the next Main Meeting on Wednesday September11th the speaker shall be Jill George on The Wave Project, Improving the mental health of young people through surf therapy.
The raffle was drawn.
Following coffee the speaker Ian Gasper gave a fascinating presentation about The Silk Roads.
