Looe u3a Ukulele Group
We formed in October of 2018, there were just eight of us, and most were complete beginners, having never picked up the instrument before! Very quickly we were having great fun and playing simple tunes (only two chords). Our numbers have gradually increased and we are now twelve in number, and our song book has grown and grown. We have performed on a couple of occasions and continue to have great fun as we learn more and more.
The Ukulele is one of the easiest instruments to play, you don’t need to be able to read music, but a sense of rhythm and the ability to carry a tune is always helpful.
Due to Covid and lockdown rules we have not been meeting since March 2020. However, once the Bowling Club at Hannafore, where we usually meet, is open and we are allowed, we will reconvene, to continue our strumming and singing on a Monday morning from 10 until 12 at a cost of £2 per week.
If you are interested in joining our Ukulele group please contact group leader Yvonne Toms at groupsInfo@looeu3a.org
UPDATE: This group will be meeting from October 18th at the Bowling Club.
