Minutes of the Main Meeting 9th September, St Martin’s Hall, beginning at 10am.
The Chair, Steve, welcomed everyone to the Meeting with the usual health and safety briefing and a reminder about the suggestion box if anyone should wish to use it.
Chair’s News
Steve began by announcing that member Jim Ward had suffered a stroke but was recovering in hospital. His wife, Iris, had sent her advice to members, and with her usual wry sense of humour advised them not to climb a ladder at 93 years of age.
Steve told those present that as his presentation contained a lot of information, he would be sending out an email to all members following the meeting. He repeated his request to members wishing to contribute to his PowerPoint presentation for meetings, to submit those by the first Friday of each month.
He reminded members about the u3a Facebook page and website and said that new identity cards were available. For safety, he asked members to carry these when attending any u3a event.
Copies of the new Third Age Matters magazine were available for members to borrow.
