Scottish Night at Looe & District u3a had the lot! Haggis, neeps and tatties with whisky gravy prepared and served by the Committee and volunteers, freshly made Cranachan and a bar serving all the usual beverages along with Scotch Whisky. Gordon, a Scottish piper began the evening with piping in the haggis to ‘Oh, Flower of Scotland’ and then playing other Scottish tunes whilst the members were served their meal. With stomachs full, the members were treated to more bagpipe music, poems and songs by Robert Burns performed by members and the ‘Ukelele Group’ and ‘Tunes in the Afternoon’ combined to finish the entertainment with popular Scottish songs. Another enjoyable and successful evening organised by the extremely efficient Events Team under the leadership of Chris Barwell.
